Sunday Recap
We had a wonderful time reflecting on our Thanksgiving holiday and time off from school on Sunday! We talked about all of the things we were grateful for and ways that we showed gratitude through our Gratitude Challenge! What an incredible group of kiddos!
We dove in to the most exciting time of the year and began talking about ways we can use our mouths for good! These kids must be future dentists because they knew all about their teeth and about the fact that the tongue was the strongest muscle in their bodies!! To demonstrate how powerful our words are we played a few different games of the classic ” telephone”. We saw the difference between when we chose to start a message that was glorifying to God and when we chose to start with a message that had a negative impact. Students did a great job talking about ways that they’ve used their mouths for both good and even bad at times. We talked about the impact our words have on all of those around us and even how our ” self-talk” can impact us. The takeaway for the kids was hopefully that even if we misspeak, or are struggling to use our mouths for good- that our friends and our God has the ability to forgive and help us through. We also touched on the important of forgiveness and how the feeling of un-forgiveness can have just as much as a negative impact on our spiritual growth.
The Prek-K kids had a great time starting the wonderful story of Christmas! Our focus is to ensure that all of our Covenant Kids infant- Kindergarten fully embrace and grasp how special Christmas is due to the birth of Jesus. It is going to be a wonderful holiday season celebrating with all of these kids! We look forward to the month ahead!
