Campus Crusade Mission Support

terence | July 8, 2008

Dear BGCC,

In the past we have supported students from our church family who have served in short-term missions projects. Mark Waggoner, a BGSU student who has attended Covenant for the past several years, is in Chicago for a Campus Crusade summer project. Below is a description written by Mark as well as an appeal for support.  If you would like to support Mark with a gift of any amount please make your check payable to BGCC with a notation that it is for the Crusade Summer Project.

Pastor Malanga

Here is Mark’s letter:

The Chicago summer project with Campus Crusade is a way for students from all over to come and share their faith with the
city of Chicago. There are 35 of us with about 30 staff here as well. However, as of July 11th the staff will be leaving and are
giving the leadership of the project to us.

So far in the three weeks that we have been here, we have gone out almost every day and shared our faith on campuses, in parks, even in our apartment building. I have personally felt a pull towards the homeless ministries in the city and am in the process of volunteering at the Pacific Garden Mission here in Chicago to spend time with the homeless and share the faith. Already, I and others have taken a number of homeless to lunch and spread the gospel to them.

Within even the first few days of project we saw people come to Christ through our sharing of the Gospel and the Lord has been moving in our lives exponentially more as we continue on. The community that we have become in our works has been extremely uplifting and encouraging.

However, to continue to do this, I need to raise another 1200$ in support. I have currently raised 1900$ from an amazing group of people who have believed in the vision of Christ and have wanted to help spread His kingdom. I want to humbly ask of you and the amazing congregation of BG Covenant for any support that they might feel called to give.

I do not have very consistent internet access and I am almost always reachable by phone at 419.704.4261 if anybody has any
questions.

Once more I want to thank you for taking the time to consider my request and I pray that Christ continues to lead all of us to His kingdom.

In love and praise,

Mark Waggoner
